Vocal Concert by Ganakalashree Vid. M.S. Sheela - 30th May '09, Adam Concert Hall

This was an evening to remember for the audience as they were completely mesmerized by the splendid rendition of carnatic music by Ganakalashree Vid. Smt M.S. Sheela accompanied by Shri Sridharchari on Mridangam and Dr Ashok Malur on the Violin. The artist performed some popular keerthanas that was enjoyed by one and all, and also a couple of songs on popular demand.

Despite the cold weather and the long weekend we had a good number
of audience who attended the concert. Following the usual tradition, the concert lasted for about 3 hours, with a break after 1 hour for refreshments. President Revathi Venkatraman made the welcome address and Secretary Kriththika Ramani presented the vote of thanks. The mementos were presented to the artists by the youngermembers of the audience, Varshini, Sujoy and Sanmirth.

NZIFS thanks the New Zealand School of Music for their continued support. Thanks to the Bhagawans and Ram and Ranjini for hosting the artists. Thanks also to Karnan and Satheesh for their assistance in setting up the venue for the concert. Thanks to those who helped with the snack stall etc.

The concert was a great success. NZIFS is working towards organizing a number of more such concerts that keeps us entertained and in touch with our classical roots.
