Standing Ovation for T.M.Krishna, Shriramkumar & Mannargudi Easwaran

On Saturday the 5th of June evening, NZIFS hosted a perfect musical event by T.M.Krishna, Mannargudi Easwaran & Shriramkumar. Starting with a Mayamalavagowlam(Deva Deva), T.M.Krishna gave fluent and enjoyable expression to each ragam in his own way.

T.M.Krishna sang "Dinamani Vamsa" in Harikambhoji, "Mokshamu Galada" in Saramathi, Gopala Krishna Bharathiar composition in Poorvikalyani. Purandaradasar's Jagado dharana... was well received by the audience.

He sang "Pachai mamalai pol meni' at the special request of Shri Mannargudi Easwaran. 'Pachai mamalai pol meni' is a famous Pasuram of Thondaradipodi Azhwar, in praise of Lord Sri Ranganatha of Sri Rangam.

Krishna sang Raagam, Taanam, Pallavi for Rama Nee Samanamevaru (Karakarapriya, Anadnadabhairavi) Karpooram Narumo in Kamas. Krishna finished with the serene and tranquil Vande Mataram. At the end of the concert, the audience burst into enthusiastic applause acknowledging the artistes for providing a bewitching evening.

Shri R.K.Shriramkumar and Shri. Mannargudi Easwaran provided brilliant rhythm to Krishna's songs. Together they produced spontaneous creative harmonious music. The artistes remained relaxed & light-hearted throughout. They showed no signs of jet lag and were available to interact with the audience after the concert and during a small get-together organised by NZIFS. R.K.Shriramkumar described Wellington as very beautiful. The artistes had excellent rapport and often cracked into light humour.

The artistes haasyam & easy approach, balanced their professional commitment. Sure enough the audience took a lot back home to savour & to remember.
